No. 1 (My Hero Academia OP 8)

I have an off and on relationship with anime, sometimes I will watch a series the entire way, and most times I fall off after a couple episodes due to my ADHD, but hopefully this blog will inspire me to cover some anime in various ways and see them through. But one anime I am caught up on and am a big fan of is My Hero Academia, the characters are great, the story though sometimes giving me mixed feelings can inspire me, and the animation looks good. I decided to go through one of the openings or the more reason seasons, opening eight which is called "No. 1.". Even if i don't finish or even watch an anime, I love the openings and endings, often times going out of my way to find the full songs, and seeing what was cut for the show. The songs that roll during the credits or as the show begins, I love listening to these songs, so I am going through this one, why this one first and not the first opening? Well I will get into that in a moment, but namely because I recently we

In The Heights: A Great Summer Listen

When the lights come up on this show, we are brought to a whole new world. One full of stress, love, and bills to pay. One about family, friends, and dreams. When "In The Heights" begins summer is starting with it, and as the show progresses the season plays out with the whole story. The whole narrative spans just one season, and yet has so much in it. But today is not about the story, today we are not deep diving into the show itself, but rather its music. Today I am speaking strictly of the songs from "In The Heights" and why this show encapsulates summer so well, that I listen to it every season. Every time the weather gets hot and this season rolls around, I find myself listening to this show at least four times over, as well as plenty of the songs from it on their own, or big pieces of it. This soundtrack fits summer so incredibly well, that I associate the musical with the season itself, that is topic for today, and here is why.  As I or anyone who decides to

TMNT Shredder's Revenge: Still A Beat Em Up Masterpiece

Image
(Image Source: Nintendo.Com) When this game was announced I was beyond excited, I love "TMNT IV Turtles In Time", and the beat em up genre as a whole. So seeing this filled me with nostalgia, wonder, and pure joy, Following every trailer just built that excitement until it was finally given a date, and when I played it, it surpassed all expectations. This was a game that lived up the hype and I am so glad it did.  This game is over a year old and it is still amazing. Since at the time of this post there is a new turtles film hitting the big screen, I decided to revisit this game, and see if the hype was still there. Spoilers the hype for this game is alive and well, so well that DLC is on the way that I and many others are excited for. I fired up my copy on PS5, and I was flying solo for this run. This would be my fourth time playing through the game all the way through. I have played handfuls levels with friends, whole playthroughs with friends, and a couple on my own, so

Ready As I'll Ever Be (Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure)

With the blog taking a new direction, musicals, music, and songs will also be featured here along with games, movies and T.V. So why not talk about a song from an animated series I am quite fond of to start this off? The Tangled animated series has some great comedy, heart, adventure and some amazing songs in it. Bringing in Disney legend Alan Menken, this series does not use songs all the time, but when they do it is usually a slam dunk, and this season one song is no exception. In terms of the song it fits well into the story moment but also stands strong on its own without the context of the narrative, making it a great one. This song is building towards a giant climax, as those on the sides of good and evil prepare for the titular moment, saying they will be "Ready As I'll Ever Be". The songs repeating of that to add to the urgency of the moment but showing both sides of this coin as well. We have moments of someone preparing to stand their ground, someone preparing
