Disney Classics Aladdin And Lion King (Switch)

After covering the Disney Afternoon Collection, I am on a slight Disney based games kick, so there will be a couple more I will be covering over the next couple weeks. To continue the trend todays game is Disney Classics Aladdin and Lion King, a two pack retailing usually at twenty dollars contain various versions of two classic Disney games, but is available on most consoles and goes on sale often.

This collection comes with the Genesis, Gameboy, and Gameboy Color versions of Aladdin and Lion King made by Virgin Interactive, and since Capcom covered the Aladdin game for Super Nintendo (The one I grew up with) that one is not present. You have the Super Nintendo and Genesis Versions of Lion King both English and Japanese, as well the game boy and Gameboy color versions. For Aladdin you have the classic genesis game, the final cut version which has cut content, the Japanese version, the hand versions and the demo show version which is an unfinished  handful of levels that was taken to trade shows to demo the game. Each game has a rewind feature, save states, as well as a gallery and music player.

The games are short both lasting about two hours, but there is so much content. The only problem is that you are just paying for a ton of versions of two games. But if you want some good nostalgia and a rewind feature that makes the tricky parts less tricky this collection is a pretty good time. You can always try a a version or two put the game down, and then try a different version when you pick it up again. I do not recommend playing all the versions back to back, even though the games are short and there are rewind features, I personally got burned out. It's best to enjoy the multiple versions in small bursts in my opinion. The presentation and menus are crisp and clean, there are plenty of options and the base cartridges of the games are around this price, so having them together at this full price works for modern console. This is another solid Disney game collection and I am glad I own it, even though it has less games then two collections, the games included are great fun, and have multiple interesting versions. The trade show version of Aladdin is such a fascinating inclusion, and Lion King feels doable with the rewind feature. Both games are good fun and this collection is great, especially on sale.

Thoughts: Limited but good collection with good features, cool inclusions, fun retro games with great modern additions.
