I Loved The Sonic Symphony

The Sonic The Hedgehog Symphony was an event that sent chills up my spine. It was fun from start to finish, covering a large range of the mascot's history. Classic tunes to ones from recent games made for an unforgettable experience and it is on YouTube for people to watch whenever they like, over and over again. Just like the Undertale concert there is no additional fee to enjoy this well put together, well organize show.

Every performer giving their all and it showed, from song performances with singing to purely orchestrated pieces, every song came to life. With gameplay shown alongside it to add an extra layer of charm and artwork made for this event as well, a ton of work clearly went into this. From start to finish I was grinning ear to ear, and I am so glad I can come back to this over and over, making for great background music to fire me up when working on a project or cleaning.

With it also being available at no additional cost is a perfect way to ring in the blue blurs anniversary. Thirty years have passed since he first grabbed rings, freed animals, and caught our attention back on the SEGA Genesis. Since those days he has had many a memorable tune tied to his name, even if a game reviewed poorly, the soundtracks always received high praise. So this event just made sense to put on, and is a real treat for fans old and new. This event was a treat from start to finish and highlight in the gaming scene for this year that I will remember for years to come.

This gives me hope for other gaming concerts to follow suit, this and the Undertale shows were beautiful, fantastic shows that captured why we love the games soundtracks. Showing that videogame music is music no matter what someone's opinion is, and can sound wonderful in so many different forms. So I decided to pick a couple SEGA franchises that I think would make a great contribution to an orchestral arrangement. Maybe we could get dedicated concerts, or a SEGA concert with a ton of different songs from different games.

Rhythm Thief/ Space Channel 5/ Samba De Amigo

These game was made with music in mind, giving them orchestra treatments is a given. I think they could all have segments in a larger show, and would fit well being featured alongside each other.

Persona

This series could get its own concert and hold its own, it is becoming well known enough, and the music is remixed and beloved by many. Maybe using 4 and 5 in a combination would be the best with some pieces of the classic games, but these soundtracks are next level and very well organized, a Persona concert  would be a epic treat, a last surprise we would never see coming.

If you love videogame music or SEGA then the Sonic Symphony is a must, it is easy to find on YouTube and is a fantastic time start finish. Well put together and well paced, saved to be watched over and over, this concert is pure joy and reminds us why we love these songs to begin with. Either in the background while working or humming on a commute, these songs are great, and this concert has so much love put into it, that it gives us another great version of the songs we love.
