It's An Anime Holiday Special!

Sometimes to brighten up the season you need a breath of fresh air, so I decided to look at a ton of anime games to really get into the holiday season mood. So many so that I covered some here, and some on the Late Night Sprites podcast which can be heard where most podcasts are found. So instead of a Christmas game or something with a big deep and emotion story, I am going to yell a bunch, discover some hidden power, rock out to some awesome music and go on some adventures. Here are so Anime games you may find under the tree or pick up yourself based on popular series, that may or may not be worth your time. Let's see if it was worth mine. Here and on the podcast it is my first ever Holiday special, because nothing screams family, friendship, and goodwill like anime-based games.  If you want more then check out the podcast, these are two pieces of one big episode, so here are a few bonuses.

Dragon Ball Z Kakorot

This open world RPG is so much fun. It is wrapped up with not just DLC and a ton of content but a fantastic presentation. I felt just like a little kid again plaything this game, in so many ways. The gameplay is fun and responsive. The graphics and presentation are great, and the music fits every scene perfectly. This game feels like playing through the anime in the best way possible, with fun gameplay, tons of content and an awesome presentation.

I have so much fun with this game, and as someone who grew up glued to the T.V watching this series on Toonami, this game is a must for any Dragon Ball Z fan who want a fun game with a great dose of Nostolgia.

My Hero Academia One's Justice One And Two

I have already talked about this game extensively on the podcast so I will be brief but If you did not see that episode, I decided it would fun to revisit this duology. These arena fighters are a fun time with friends with a ton of single player content and online battles as well.

The second game improves on the shortcomings of the first but both have their merits. The presentation is fun and unique and there is a ton to do. The cast is fun to play as and control great. Each character has their own special moves and skill sets to set them apart, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. It's fun to find a favorite hero or villain to play as and go through the story or all the side content. The second game adds more and is more recent, both are a SUPER fun time.

One Piece Pirate Warriors 4

On the podcast I alluded to both Pirate Warriors Three and Four being worth your time, now here is why. The story modes, challenges, and playable characters are vastly different. The presentation in both has their own unique look in the best way possible. This game has a shorter story mode but still has a what if scenario for the current arc of the anime but is still plenty of fun. There is still plenty of side characters and both have their strengths and weaknesses. There is less content and shorter story, but then it feels less tiresome at points, but could have used a bit of a longer story.

This one has great content and is super fun to play. The gameplay matches the awesome presentation and the high energy stays with the player from beginning to end. Whether playing as a favorite or as someone new, each character is fun to control. This game is a blast and is a great time for warriors fans and One Piece fans alike. This game has great speed and pacing as well.

Both games are worth it for different reasons and are super fun to play. Just not back to back, to avoid burnout, but spaced out, both of these games are a riot.

Thank you for reading and or listening if not both to my holiday special, part one is on the podcast and this year has been so much fun to make content for both. Essentially making two different posts a week is rewarding to do and I will continue to do so. Thank you so much for your support and have a wonderful Holiday season. Happy Holidays!
