Untitled Goose Game: A Chaotic Good Time

As of this post it is April 1st a day of pranks, jokes, and in hopefully most cases good fun. Joke responsibly and consider others but on this day, there is a way to cause havoc in super fun way. It is always a perfect day to boot up your favorite current system of choice and to be, a very evil goose. If today is the day for pranks, then this game is the perfect game for that, but if you are reading this after, this game is still fantastic any day you decide to play it.

A puzzle game set in a small town, you begin as a goose who can flap its wings, run, bend your head, bite and hold objects with your mouth, and of course honk. When in doubt just honk. At the beginning of every area, you are given a check list if you pause the game, giving you tasks to ruin the days of the citizens this goose has decided to terrorize. From putting a rake in a lake, to messing with a store, each area has the same number of objectives and most of them stand out. Most areas have you collect a group of objects but even then, what you do with them makes sense in context of the objective and stand out. That being said if you do not like the idea of playing as a goose who makes people's days worse or think the joke isn't funny then the games charm will wear on you quickly.

This game controls well and is fun to play whether you are going for the objective or just messing around. This game is hilarious, and since the game is not that long the joke does not wear thin. The game does not last long but it is so fun and even has multiplayer. The game also has some hidden objectives that encourage exploration, as well as some fun bonus content after the credits roll. The game controls well and leads to many hilarious antics as you terrorize the town. It may not be the longest, but the jokes always hit a bullseye as you complete the missions. There is also a great deal of replay ability as the missions can be done in any order.

The presentation works super well with the great gameplay, the music changing depending on what is happening in game. The graphics welcoming and charming, not pushing any devices to their limits but rather being simple. Showing that a game doesn't need a super intense engine that might cause lag when situations arise but rather can be charming and great in its own way. The world of the game has a presentation that leads let the gameplay be the star of the show and lends to the great punchlines that lie ahead. This game has a great charm in its presentation and fun gameplay combined to be a short adventure but one that is enjoyable start to finish. The game has enough content to warrant its price with a ton of replay value, I have played this many times and even though I know how to solve the puzzles the payoff is entertaining that I find myself playing this title every once in a while. The run time is short enough that it is not a major commitment, and the main story can be done in one sitting.

If you want a good laugh and want to cause some harmless havoc this April Fools Day or any day, this game is one that will definitely fit the bill.
