Road To Reboot Camp: Advance Wars GBA

One of my most anticipated releases for this year, and there are so many games to be excited for is "Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp" a splendid looking remaster of the first two games. With that and "Kirby And The Forgotten Land" both approaching release faster and faster, I decided I am going to cover both of those games and few in their series leading up to said releases. The first in the lineup is first game in the Advance Wars series that came to the west with the GBA original. Originally known as "Famicom Wars" outside of America this series, is a bright and colorful RTS that places you at the helm, leading an army, and fulfilling multiple types of conditions to attain victory... hopefully.  Each general with their own strengths and weaknesses, as well as a variety of maps, so let's see how well this first game has aged and if this is a battle worth fighting, time to boot up the good Ol Wii U Virtual Console and find out.  The first game has a dece

Nintendo Direct 2.9.2022

Image Source: Nintendo Of America Twitter The time has come, another Nintendo Direct has come, and this one was one for the books. So much was announced in just under an hour, so instead of recapping it all, I highly recommend going to Nintendo's YouTube page and watching it there. I will instead be talking about what stood out to me, what I want to try, and what games will be making my wallet take more damage than a boss in an RPG that you over leveled for before you fight.  Going In I was already anticipating the releases of "Splatoon 3", "Advance Wars Reboot Camp" and "Kirby And The Forgotten Land" but after seeing them all highlighted here, I cannot wait to play all of these. Seeing them all filled me with even more hype and made sure I was covered for new games for early spring. Even though "Splatoon 3" only has a release date of Summer 2022, seeing more is always welcome. Then there were the surprises, from games never released before

Update And My Nintendo Direct Prediction (2.8.21)

This week I am taking a slight break from Indie rhythm games, and I will be giving my predictions and then thoughts on the Nintendo direct, followed by more content for the blog as normal I am really falling out of the theme and finding motivation hard so I may be walking away from this theme and just doing some smaller review content in its place. In April according to the Nintendo Eshop we are expected to get "Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp" and on March 25th we will be getting "Kirby And The Forgotten Lands". So the month of March will be a dual series look leading up to their major releases, a couple Kirby games of choice, and an Advance Wars retrospective. After that I will be not have any themes for a while as I work on ideas for themes, but will be focusing on Indie games with some retro titles and some other ideas thrown in.  I have some fun surprises planned for the rest of year and will be sharing more soon.  I want to shift my focus to shorter titles so I c

Popslinger: A Great Aesthetic In A Basic World (Switch)

February's theme is indie rhythm games, and I cannot wait to dance, sing, and groove to some great rhythm games, As I wave goodbye to puzzle game month, I found a rhythm game that is a mix of puzzle games, rhythm games, and side scrolling shooters reminiscent of the arcade days. So for one last puzzle game, and welcome in the month of music games, I found a game that is so much of both I could not help but cover it.  This game is a 2 D sidescroller like a beat em up, bur is a played like a space shooter, with elements of a rhythm game and match three puzzle game. In terms of gameplay, you run from side to side, blasting enimies, dodging and reaching the boss to end the stage where you will get a grade. Blast four enimies of the same color and you get a power up such as shield, a turret or healing as well as changing up the music. You can press a button to dodge attacks with invincibility frames, and the controls are very responsive, from swapping blasters as you unlock them, dodgi
