New Super Mario Bros.. Back When The Series Was New

Retro hunting can take many forms, physical or a digital download. You can relive all of your childhood memories or look into a game you missed. For this post I am doing the former, the first in the New Super Mario Bros that started the series. I loved this game as a kid but does it hold up? Let's find out. This plot follows the same as the first Mario game ever but with a slight twist, as Princess Peach is kidnapped by Bowser Jr. this time, as you explore eight worlds you run, jump, use power ups and collect star coins to purchase more stages and power ups. Speaking of power ups this game only has six, and three of them are mushrooms, the blue shell, power star,  fire flower, standard, mini, and mega mushrooms are all you get, so there is not much to work with. The graphics and music do not hold up the best either, the same songs are constantly used, and the game does not look the best, I played this on the Wii U so maybe it would look a little better on the smaller screen it was

Mario Kart Collectors Box

So recently I was at Target and I decided to pick up a couple things, New Super Mario Brothers Deluxe for the Switch, a new plug in Mario themed pro controller, a journal, and a water bottle. But among all this Mario themed goodness for this fun haul. I picked up a Mario Kart themed collectors box. Was it worth the thirty dollars? Let's go through the contents and you can decide if you want one. In the box the first item I got was a hat, too small for me  but a fun Mario themed hat with a ton of items that are a staple of the Mario Kart series on it. Next was a fun light that was paired was a light up item box. Then there was a very high end, well made model of the blue shell item. Next was a set of four coasters shaped like tires, which were fun, each one had a different pattern. And then there were two key chains, one plush version of the banana peel item, and one of a medal of one of the cups. I thoroughly enjoyed this, but if I could change one thing, I would make it themed to

Rain On Your Parade (Switch Indie Game, First Impressions)

Image
(Image source. Indiegame.db)  The last time I played a game that had me ruining peoples days, it was Untitled Goose Game, the chaos I caused and the shenanigans I got into were amazing. I love Untiled Goose Game, and when I was told there was a game like it, I had to check it out.  Rain On Your Parade has you taking control of a rain cloud who uses various weather based skills to ruin peoples days, whether it's camping, a wedding, or a concert, this puzzle game has you wreaking all sorts of havoc. There are multiple objectives used to advance the story and collect cosmetics. Some are mandatory and some optional.  The aesthetic and music of this game are fantastic, the music and pop up book art style look fantastic. The music is great, and the game has a really fun look. The writing is funny at some points, but a lot of the writing will date the game and focuses on a lot of references. There are a lot of current memes and trends in games mentioned, so some jokes are great and some

Welcome

I love Videogames, and most times I find myself playing them at night after a long day, late into the night. Sometimes in the mid afternoon and then I look up and it's 10 PM  so this blog is a passion project talking about all things videogames, modern, retro, indie, it doesn't matter. I have steam, a 3DS, a Wii U, A PS4, and a Switch, so those are the consoles I will be using to cover all sorts of games. This blog will have reviews, discussions, merch talks, lists, and a variety of topics. From an old favorite, to trying something new that I bought on sale, this blog is to review, discuss, and enjoy all sorts of fun videogames from all sorts of genres, from developers big and small. Games, music, merch, reviews, lists, discussions, triple A games, indie games, and more. The games we play till the sun rises all through the night, welcome too, late night sprites!  Review Score is from one to five, with whatever hilarious comments I can come up with along the way
