Celeste Is A Great Game

Image
Image Source: IGN Dot Com This time of year in most places snow has begun falling or will be falling soon. So on top of the indie games I will be covering, I may cover some that fit with this season. This game has beauitful snowy mountain, a wonderful story, a sweeping score, and is one of the best indie games I have ever played. The story is so great I will not even give a plot synopsis but rather just say why I love it, this is a narrative that needs to be experience firsthand and if possible with little to no knowledge of the plot. This story is an incredibly real and well written narrative that is relatable and full of charm. The graphics are wonderful and the music is great, the atmosphere in this game is second to none. Each landscape is fantastically made and the sprite work in this game is amazing. So with the amazing look, and fantastic story, what about the gameplay? It is a platformer that is incredibly challenging but is so balanced and fair that it encourages continuing r

Holiday Buyers Guide (Indie Games)(Vol. 1)

It is that time of year again, gift giving, shopping and hearing those classic songs in every store you go to. Whether that gift is to yourself or to a friend, I decided to compile a list of Indie games that I think would make great gifts or great uses of any holiday gift cards you may receive. In no particular order here are some games that I think are very much worth your time.  The Shantae Series:  Yes an entire series, but let me explain. Every game in this series is worth your time, if I had to pick only one then it would be Pirate's Curse but each one is simply phenomenal. This series is a platforming and sometimes metroidvania at it's best, great writing, amazing music and fantastic gameplay. Half Genie Hero and Seven Sirens or the older titles, all are worth your time. Slayin 2 If you want Arcade fun with a ton of variety this game is a great pick. The sprite work is fantastic and the gameplay has so much variety, if you play this game you are sure to find a play style

Worth The Bargain? Super Street Fighter 4 3D (Working Title, New Series)

In the midst of the new content I mentioned in the update, I am now beginning a new series. Where whether physical or digital, old or new, If I find a game for 15 dollars or less, I am going to give it a try, and see if it was worth the low asking price. From home consoles, handhelds, indie games, old and new, but I am mostly going to focus on retro and older consoles. This is an idea I have had for a while that I am finally getting to. The 3DS, DS, and Wii U are all retro hunting gems at the moment in some cases, some games are either maintaining/going up in price, while many have been declining. As a retro game collector who is always looking to have money left over while shopping, I am always on the hunt for a bargain. So is this handheld port of a beloved console game worth the 7.99 I paid for it? Let's find out. The only fighting game I have experience with really is the Super Smash Brothers series but I have always wanted to try others, I owned this game at one point back wh

Mario Kart Tier List

Image
Image Source: Tiermaker dot com  I have been thinking about Mario Kart lately, and decided to make a fun tier list of the games I have played. All these opinions are mine, and if your opinion differs then that's okay, for me Double Dash is still the best. Here it is!

Update

To everyone reading this, I hope you are well, life has been quite busy, so sorry for the delay in content recently, but  I do have some fun stuff mapped out for the near future of this blog. Working on this blog has been an absolute treat and I can not wait to share the ideas I have in motion for what is to come, but first a couple updates. I will not be covering as many Triple A games for some time, keeping up with new releases not only causes me to rush through the games and not enjoy them as much, but also focus on covering them rather then playing them. That being said, new Indie games are fair game because in most cases they are much shorter. That being said I will still cover a newer game from time to time, or a new DLC expansion and so on, but not right away. I want to give myself time to go through something and really think about it before covering it, so no more first impressions or rushed reviews, at least for Triple A games.  The new focus of this blog in-between covering

4 Sony Franchises I Want To See Come Back

The other day I was thinking, as one does , and I thought about how Sony used to have a ton of mascots to rival Nintendo. From colorful cartoon platformers, to puzzle games with amazing music and a ton of charm. Now there are still some series going strong such as God Of War and Rachet And Clank but many series have fallen to the wayside. Horizon seems to be a new staple for the company but who remembers Jak And Daxter who have been waiting in the wings for a new title for quite some time, or Infamous? Today in no particular order I am going to talk about four Sony mascots I want to see back in action again. Katamari: I have only played Katamari Damacy but it was a fantastic time with a great soundtrack as well. This series has laid dormant for some time and I think it is about time we got a comeback. The haptic feedback of the PS5 controller would work perfectly with this series. Parappa The Rappa: This rhythm game is so fantastic and so memorable. Full of charm and catchy music, and

Mario Party Superstars

The celebration of a series that destroys friendships is here. Mario Party Superstars, using five boards from across the Nintendo 64 titles, and minigames from across the entire series. I have played it both in a single player and with friends so now I want to share my experience. Is this game too late and should have come out years ago, or is it a ten out of ten dice roll for the franchise? Grab a snack, some friends, and pick your favorite character from the line up, because it is time to party! Though there are not many modes, each one can be played with friends or by yourself, which is the main party mode and parts of Mt. Minigame only two modes are strictly single player, which is a minigame gauntlet. There are 100 minigames from across the franchise but you can tailor pick what you want, from specific console eras to different styles of minigames. This applies to the board as well which we will discuss later. The minigame selection is fantastic, a great variety whether picking n
