Thank you so much for reading these posts for this first themed month! I will definitly try new themes in the future but for now I think we will be going back to normal and covering a range of topics. Games both digital, physical, paid for, free, triple A, indie, modern, retro, and more. Thank you so much for joining me for this themed month, from reviewing new games, to trying some ideas, I really enjoyed it. See you in June with more posts!

Buyers Guide: Arcade (Vol 1)

With a new season there will be digital sales a plenty, and when I see an influx of them I will make buyers guides for certain topics and genres and so on, and this wont be one and done as I discover more games old and new, indie and triple A there will be more recommendations.. Just a few picks that you might want to add to your library, this time for games that have an arcade like feel, whether spending hours aiming for a high score or something to just pick up and play though a simple story mode, here are some arcade style recommendations. Downwell (Multiplatform) This game is good for one round or ten, a great fun game, where no run after feels the same. Blitz Breaker (Steam) This game is not only super cheap, but is fantastic, it is easy to learn, hard to master and it is a fantastic time.  This is a game that could be played in short bursts or in long sittings and is a great time. Jump N Shoot Attack (Mobile) Need a fun pick up and play game for your phone? This one is great! Ca

(image source: Ebay.com)                                                                                (Played On PS4) Welcome to my new series, this is not guaranteed every Friday, and sometimes other posts might be on a Friday but some Fridays I want to cover free to play games, whether I got them as a free to play games, got them as gifts, or via online subscriptions like PlayStation Gold, or events like Play At Home and so on. So every once and while on Friday I will cover a free game, thus this series. And today I wanted to talk about this game that just dropped. I played the beta and really enjoyed it, so what about the full game now that its out. This game is free to try at the moment so I want to see what that means. Lots of people love dodgeball and I am no different so when I saw the trailer for a dodgeball battle royale I was on board. When I played the beta there was only matches and the hub world but now that the game is out, what else was added. This is a team based bat

Battle Royales And Me

The battle royale genre is one I am familiar with and not at the same time, I used to play a ton of Fornite but fell off and never returned, I have never once tried APEX or Call of Duty Battlegrounds. My experience with this genre is different and I wanted to share my story. One factor to me that is key is interest, if I the game does not appeal to me I will not even try it, even if it's free. Games like Fall Guys, Tetris 99, and Pac Man 99 appeal to me over APEX for another reason. They have to be unique, countless games have modes where you drop in and have to be the last one standing. But the three I just listed previously all do it in a different way then killing your opponent, you outlast by being the best at Tetris or a wacky game show with crazy obstacles. So they have to stand out and be different then the rest. Nothing against the standard genre, and if you enjoy that, then I am glad for you. But for me personally it has to be different.  Another is how it can keep me eng

Moon Raider Review

Image
(image source: hardcoredroid.com) A ton of mobile games get ported to Switch, and sometimes they catch my eye. This game was one of them, it is cheaper on mobile phones but was the higher price and the controls worth it, Kero Blaster also started on phones but then moved to consoles at a slightly higher price but I found it worth it, there are a good handful of games that started on phones and ended up on switch. I have a good number of them, so let's see if this is one of them. This game opens with one cutscene and that is all you get in terms of story, in terms of presentation that is all you get. The music was pretty forgettable and the sprites were well done but the enemies are reused throughout the whole game and slightly altered for each area. This game definitely feels like it was made for phones, it controls well enough but sometimes if you jump near a wall you might roll around it or get caught on ledge, it feels like a little bit more polish was needed. There were graphi

Bonus Post: Mario 3D World and Super Mario Party Online

This does not really fit this months theme but I wanted to share something really interesting, so here is a bonus post. Recently Super Mario Party added online play, and when Super Mario 3D World plus Bowser's Fury released, it was revealed you could play the whole game online with friends. So I tested both and here are my experiences. Super Mario Party works as well as Mario Kart's online features, as in really well. I played a couple rounds and it ran super well. My friends and I played two rounds of fifteen turns and the mini games and gameplay ran smoothly with no hiccups. It replicated in the same room feeling so well and made me hopeful for Mario Party's future, it was a ton of fun. Ran well and I had a fantastic time. It was a great time and if you have a group of friends to try it with I highly recommend. But when I played with a pull party of people in Super Mario Party, the whole game crashed. And when that goes down the whole party goes down no matter how far you

Top 5 Capcom Games I Want On Modern Consoles

Image
(Image Source Amazon) Great Ace Attorney is coming to modern consoles very soon, with Resident Evil 8, and Monster Hunter Rise, Capcom has been on a role lately, Ghost and Goblins even got a remaster this year. So with this nostalgic and modern return to form, I made a list of five Capcom games I would love to see on modern consoles, some exist already, and some are ideas, I have. Ducktales Remastered: This may be on Steam, PS3, Xbox 360, and WII U, but I would love this love letter to a classic game on Switch or PS4.  Another Disney Collection: There are so many other Disney Capcom games, such as Goof Troop, Aladdin, Little Mermaid, and so much more, if they were placed in another collection it would be amazing just like the Disney Afternoon Collection. Mega Man Legends Collection: We have so many amazing Mega Man Collections, and there are three legends games, just saying that would be a great collection alongside the current ones. Mega Man Battle Network,  X Command Mission, And St

Capcom Arcade Stadium And Capcom Beat Em Up Bundle (Retro Done Right? Vol. 1)

Image
(Image Source: IGN.com)   I love the resurgence of retro game collections that have been releasing lately, from Sega collections, to the SNES and Genesis mini consoles, there are many ways to play old games today on a wide variety of consoles without getting a remaster. And two collections I wanted to look at today are Capcom Arcade Stadium with a brief look at a game collect that share some titles that came before it The Capcom Beat Em Up Bundle. I will look at them today as collections, but I will look more in depth at the games in the future in many different ways, but today I wanted to talk about the packages as a whole. Capcom Arcade Stadium was released in February of this year  for the Nintendo Switch and Steam for free, but by free I mean one or two games were free the others were behind  a few different pay walls. certain packs with a few games, individual games, or the complete set of them all for forty dollars for the sake of this review I got them all which includes rewind

Tetris And Pac Man 99

Paying twenty dollars to play my Nintendo Switch online may come with NES and SNES games, and the ability to play games with friends but there are two more amazing reasons or should I say there are two sets of 99 reasons. Tetris 99 and Pac Man 99, two different games in the battle royale genre made from classic franchises. These are both amazing. In each of these games you must face off against 98 other players, playing either Tetris or Pac Man, each with additional modes and skins for purchase but the base game is free. You play the game and try to be the last one standing, and the closer you get to victory the more you may find yourself going for just one more try. At least that is what I do, both are easy to learn with their own set of rules and will get you into the game quickly. Both control great and the load times are incredibly short. Matches go by really quick so you can fit quite a few matches into a short span.  I find these games are great to play in between games or if you

The Wonder Of Digital Sales And Shopping (Digital Month Intro, Summer Of Gaming Part One)

Whether it is the Nintendo Eshop, the PlayStation Store, or on Steam, in the world of digital games something always seems to be one sale. Sometimes you forgot that game even came out and now it's discounted, or you have been waiting to try it and now your budget lines up with it. Either way digital sales are wonderful, sometimes you and your friends can all pick up a game to play together, or a bunch of games you have wanted a while or so cheap, that it's getting three or four games for the base price of one game. Game stores try to keep up with digital sales by discounting the physical copies of games, even sometimes coinciding with the digital sales, or slightly discounting download cards.  Epic Games Store sometimes offers coupons when you purchase one game to go to another, or how the Nintendo Eshop has gold points that can be put towards your next purchase. So from today, May 6 to June 6 I am covering digital games only for my Summer Of Gaming Series, I will have a bonus

Disney Classics Aladdin And Lion King (Switch)

After covering the Disney Afternoon Collection, I am on a slight Disney based games kick, so there will be a couple more I will be covering over the next couple weeks. To continue the trend todays game is Disney Classics Aladdin and Lion King, a two pack retailing usually at twenty dollars contain various versions of two classic Disney games, but is available on most consoles and goes on sale often.  This collection comes with the Genesis, Gameboy, and Gameboy Color versions of Aladdin and Lion King made by Virgin Interactive, and since Capcom covered the Aladdin game for Super Nintendo (The one I grew up with) that one is not present. You have the Super Nintendo and Genesis Versions of Lion King both English and Japanese, as well the game boy and Gameboy color versions. For Aladdin you have the classic genesis game, the final cut version which has cut content, the Japanese version, the hand versions and the demo show version which is an unfinished  handful of levels that was taken to

The Disney Afternoon Collection (PS4)

This game is available on PS4, Xbox, and Steam, I played this game on PS4. Growing up the only Disney games I had made by Capcom are Aladdin and Goof Troop on the Super Nintendo, and I did not get to give Ducktales a try until the remaster dropped years later. Disney has a very rich history of their games, covering a wide range of studios, but one of the first games I bought for my PS4 was the Disney Afternoon Collection, a collection of six classic Disney Capcom games. This collection includes Ducktales One and Two, Chip And Dale Rescue Rangers One and Two, Darkwing Duck, and Talespin. All of this NES classics in one package.  Each game has a rewind feature, additional modes, and a save state feature on top of the included classic game.  When it comes to a game collection even at full price for the games  included,  considering how much a few of the more rare games in this collection cost, but this game does go on sale often, just like when I got it and it is worth it even more so. Rain On Your Parade Review

Image
(Image Source: Indiegame.db) So now I have played more of the game then my initial first impressions, has my opinion change or do i feel the same? Let's dive in. For those who did not see my post, you play as a cloud, and with powers you get through the game you ruin many peoples days. From campers, to office workers, and more. You are placed in a level, given goals, and rewarded with stars and cosmetics for doing so. For example the first level has you raining on a wedding, not only do you need to soak everyone but you also need to turn over the chairs. Some goals are mandatory and some are not. This games presentation is fantastic, the warm and welcoming arts and crafts look. Making the world and environments look like arts and crafts or straight out of a pop up book, the simple approach is loaded with charm and looks great. The music is fun, and the game looks, and runs great. The writing on the other hand is a mixed bag, some of it is witty and then some of it depends so much

BomberMan DS

I love retro hunting, especially for my 3DS, the DS and 3DS have so many great games that both well known and as hidden gems. I  recently got a few DS and 3DS games that I plan on covering in the near future as well as revisiting some of my old favorites from my collection. While out I saw Bomber Man DS and was excited, I loved Super BomberMan R and was looking for a fun portable game to enjoy, that could feel like a fun portable arcade style experience. Was this game a great addition to my collection?  This game has you playing classic BomberMan where you navigate a maze, collecting power ups, and blasting your way to victory. There were several modes but I stuck with the single player side of things, namely the base game and the story mode. So was this more of the same fun I had with later entries, proving that later entries sometimes recycle game elements because they are so good? In this case, no.  This game moves so slow, and unlike other versions of the game, the powerups didn&#

New Pokémon Snap: First Impressions

Image
(Image Source: Twinfinite.net) I have no nostalgia of Pokémon snap. I may have rented it once or twice but I did not own a cartridge until very recently for my retro collection. The game seemed to have loads of charm and seemed super fun and relaxing. So I decided to give the new one a try even before trying the old. So lets see how I fare with New Pokémon Snap. I love this game already, and I have seen the appeal. I now only have one question and that is " Why did I not try the original sooner?". This game is so fun and I am having such a great time with it. Move over Animal Crossing New Horizons, this game is super relaxing and fun as well for those who are looking for something new to chill with. In this game you take pictures of  many different Pokémon in many different environments, you have some tools to use and there are a few other modes and features but overall that's the gist of it. And this game is so fantastic, it is so fun and chill to just roll along and ta

5 Pokémon Spin Offs I Want

With the release of New Pokémon Snap this week, which I will be covering soon or at least giving my first impressions in the near future I thought I would make a quick list of some genres and spin offs I think that would love to see, some are sequels and others have not yet be done but are new ideas that I had. So in no particular order here are five Pokémon spin offs I would love to see.  Conquest: I only recently got this DS gem, and I am having so much fun with it, I would love to see another tactics game in the series Pinball: This series is amazing and needs to come back, I would love even a downloadable game, I would pay for one immediately.  Kart Racer: This series had one racing game and then never again, I think it could be refined and be ton of fun, even as a free to play game.  Rangers: This series had promise, and I think with some slight tweaking to the gameplay this game could be remade or given a new entry and be super fun Battle Royale: Okay here is my idea, you pick a
